Sustainable progress in fodder and forage research is vital to improve dairy sector in Pakistan because the quantity and quality of the fodder given to the livestock is directly related to the growth and production of the livestock in terms of meat and milk. In collaboration with UAF and the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan, AARI fodder Research Institute has planned a workshop on development of quality fodder and forage crops for improving livestock production in Pakistan from April 23 to 27, 2018.

International and national scientists working on fodder crops, progressive farmers, and private sector organizations will participate to share their experiences for improving and promoting better quality fodder production in Pakistan to improve the dairy sector.

This would be a great opportunity to create new avenues of fodder research and development in the country. There will be parallel poster competition session in major themes i.e. Seed production, green fodder yield, fodder nutritional quality , hay and silage production, abiotic stresses/biotic stresses and biotechnology innovations in fodder crops (Sorghum, Sudangrass, Maize, Oats, Berseem, Alfalfa, Guar, Barley, Wheat, Soybean, annual/perennial grasses etc).
