A One Day International Seminar on Resource Conservation for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Seminar will be held at IAGS, Punjab University Lahore on 19 April 2018. The seminar will take place at IAGS Seminar Room of the University of Punjab (Lahore, Pakistan).
The Institute of Agricultural Science, Punjab University Lahore (Pakistan) is organizing the seminar to promote awareness among students, researchers and relevant stake holders about sustainable farming practices, conservation agriculture and importance of food security and issues related to it. Students, researchers and all stakeholders are invited to join the seminar.
Information: The seminar will address the issues in achieving the twin goals of food security and natural resource protection is one of the most important challenge currently faced by the developing world. In agriculture, intensification of resource use is often viewed as necessary for achieving increase in food output, yet potentially detrimental to vulnerable resources such as soils and water. Similarly. many income diversification strategies place natural resource at risk. This seminar and debate will summarize different strands of the literature that have sought to explain options to achieve sustainable food security whilst encouraging wise management of scarce natural resource.
The seminar is being organized under the patron-ship of Prof. Dr. Saleem Haider (Director, IAGS) and Dr. Muhammad Bilal Chattha (Assistant Professor Agronomy, IAGS).
